Quarters
By Catt Kingsgrave
Come rise from your mountains, my amber, my ancient eyed,
Green-boned as midnight in flowering tree
Look up from your leaf bound mosaic of elder days,
Stride from your mountains and dance here with me
Come rise from the cloudways, my sapphire, my thunder winged,
Breeze sweet and tempest eyed, dawn-wild and free;
Race from your misty blue stormwooded windmazes,
Stoop from the cloudways and dance here with me.
Come rise from the sunhalls, my garnet, my glowing one,
Flame-crowned and bright eyed that all eyes may see
Spin from your heart-drumming gilden-lit spiral blaze,
Leap from the sunhalls and dance here with me.
Come rise from the ocean, my black pearl, my shining one
Jade blue and evening swept from the sea,
Flow from your labyrinthine, bright branching coral ways
Surge from the ocean and dance here with me.
Come rise from the soulways, my diamond, my crystal-eyed
Nowhen and everywhere, fallow with dream,
Wake from your star-singing, life-breathing heavensward,
Flash from the soulways and dance here with me.
